Berlin Police Department Re-accredited

The Berlin Police Department was re-accredited for the 6th time by the Commission for the Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) on March 27, 2013 at the Commission’s conference in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Berlin is one of only 14 law enforcement agencies in Connecticut to achieve accredited status.  This is the 6th time Berlin PD has been re-accredited and was consequently awarded advanced meritorious accreditation status by the Commission.

On June 13, 2013 Berlin PD was awarded Tier 3 re-accreditation by the Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POSTC).  This is the 3rd time Berlin PD has been accredited by POSTC.

Certificates of both CALEA and State accreditation were presented to the Berlin Police Commission at its regular meeting on July 17, 2013.  The department’s accreditation manager, Lieutenant Christopher Ciuci was also presented with a certificate of appreciation from CALEA for his work in achieving re-accreditation.
