"I can't believe this team shot a 171 today," Berlin coach Jim Barnes said. "It was cold, windy and wet, a great day to do anything except play golf. Still the girls persevered and posted a great team score.
"Emily's round, which included five pars and a birdie, was nothing short of amazing! Of course Emily's success with her golf is pretty amazing. I like to use Stick as an example to the younger, inexperienced players of what hard work and commitment can do for you. When Emily was a freshman she would have had a hard time breaking 60. She just kept working though, and now she is an All-Conference, All-State player who just continues to get better."
