In Memoriam: Alice S. Michalski

The long-time Kensington resident passed away Oct. 30 at the age of 98.

Alice (Louise) Schadtle Michalski, 98, passed away peacefully on Oct. 30 at Evergreen Healthcare Center in Stafford Springs, CT. She resided in Kensington for 53 years.

Alice was born on the 4th of July in Hartford, to her parents Fredrick and Fannie Schadtle.

She was a graduate of the Meriden Hospital School of nursing in 1939 and worked as a staff R.N. at Meriden hospital for 20 years.

Alice was a longtime member of the Kensington Congregational Church and also belonged to the South Kensington Fire Dept. Auxiliary, and the Community Art League of Kensington.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Michalski, leaves a daughter, Judy McLaughlin of S.C., a son, John Michalski and his wife Maxine, of Freeport Bahamas, granddaughter Paula (Gary) Brown of Stafford Springs, grandsons David and Dale Burke of Rhode Island, Michael Michalski of Martha’s Vineyard and Michelle Miller of Mystic, CT as well as several great grandchildren.

A service for Alice will be held at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home 96 Main St., Kensington on Friday, November 6, at 10:30 AM. Friends and Family are invited to call from 9:30 A.M. until time of service. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Kensington.
