In Memoriam: Joseph T. D'Aquila

The Kensington resident passed away Feb. 20 at the age of 97.

Joseph T. D’Aquila, 97, of Kensington, widower of Tina (Pistritto) D’Aquila, passed on to eternal life on Saturday (February 20, 2016) at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Sebastian and the late Santa D’Aquila.

He received his Bachelor’s degree from Trinity College, attended Yale University, amd was employed at The Stanley Works until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul’s Church, and a diehard Yankees fan, and avid scrabble player.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Celeste D’Aquila of Berlin; a daughter and son-in-law, Elissa and Thomas Pramuka of Cromwell; four grandchildren, Brian D’Aquila, Kevin D’Aquila and his wife Valerie, Kristi Pramuka, and Kenneth Pramuka and his wife Michelle, and three great-grandchildren, Sophie, Madison, and Ellie Pramuka.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Carl and Salvatore D‘Aquila.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday (February 23, 2016) at 9:30 am from Porter’s Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Kensington, with a funeral liturgy at 10 am at St. Paul’s Church on Alling Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday (February 23,) from 8:30-9:30am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Connecticut Chapter, 200 Executive Boulevard, Southington, CT 06489-1058, or to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183.
