Pizza World Hoping Berlin Residents Will Give Them A Chance
They are also hoping old customers from store near Westfarms Mall in Farmington will find them and visit.
Luan and Jenise Dalipi forged a nice business with their restaurant Pizza World in its former location, in Farmington, near the Westfarms mall. But when the rent went up, the husband and wife owners had to look for a new location.
They found a spot they liked at 1211 Farmington Ave., a former home to Quiznos Subs, next to C&C Package Store.
"The rent went up and we knew we needed to move," Luan Dalipi said. "We are from Newington so we know the area pretty well. We have been here four to five months. We picked Berlin because we didn't want to be too far from home or too far from our old customers in Farmington.

"We thought this was a good place because there was a restaurant in here before and the rent is much more affordable. We are hoping the people in Berlin will give us a chance."
Dalipi says Pizza World is different than most Pizza restaurants in that "Just about everything is fresh."

"We use fresh chicken, veal, eggplant, meatballs, sauces and our house dressing is a family recipe," Dalipi said. "This is high quality food. We have great pizza but we have a wide variety of Italian dinners as well, such as Chicken Francaise, Chicken Marsala and Chicken Cacciatore. We have some offerings that other people don't have. Everything is very fresh and we have gotten a lot of nice comments from the people who have come in to eat. We are family-run and everything is fresh."
Dalipi knew coming in that there was no shortage of Pizza restaurants in Berlin.
"We knew there were a lot of places that sold pizza and we have found out that Berliners are very loyal to their favorite Pizza restaurant," Dalipi said. "All I can say is that I would like the people of Berlin to give us a chance. We are confident if they do that, they will have a new favorite and they will come back to us.
While doing the interview at the restaurant, a customer came in and asked if this was the same Pizza World from near the Westfarms Mall? Dalipi told her it was and she said "We loved you when you were up there so we will be back for dinner."
My daughter Rianne and I ate some pizza and had salads while we were at Pizza World. The homemade Italian dressing was a highlight on the robust salad. Dalipi said he sells the dressing by the bottle because it is such a big hit.
The pizza had cheese, hamburg on half and green peppers on the other. My daughter remarked that the green peppers were crunchy and very fresh tasting. The pizza crust was very airy.
