2 Prominent Restaurants Coming To Branford: Report

The former Donovan's Reef Restaurant is being redeveloped by a well-known restaurateur and will result in two establishments at the site.

BRANFORD, CT — If you love food, and who doesn't, then you'll love this news.

Hearst Connecticut reports that the now closed Donovan's Reef Restaurant at 1212 Main St. will be redeveloped into a "high-end, “refined” 120-seat steakhouse" brought to town by prominent restaurateur Stephen Goglia. The eatery will be called SaltBrick Prime and will open later in 2024.

Additionally, Goglia's planning on a next-door, Lockworks Tavern, which will accommodate 120-seats inside and provide additional patio seating, Hearst Connecticut reported. Stephen Goglia is the CEO and President of Craveable Hospitality Group, according to its website. "A seasoned hospitality professional, Goglia has more than 30 years of experience in restaurant operations, planning and development, financial performance, guest services and branding," the Craveable Hospitality Group website states.

Restaurants under Craveable Hospitality Group include: Caputo Trattoria at Foxwoods, and David Burke Prime Steakhouse at Foxwoods, and numerous other restaurants across the country including several in New York City, according to the website.
