471 Days In Animal Shelter, Emory Is A Quiet Girl Who Needs A Home
Bulldog/boxer/pit mix, Emory is 2, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, has DNA test, is well-trained and she's alone.

BRANFORD, CT — It's not clear why her coloring matters, but according to Dan Cosgrove Animal staff, being mixed with pit bull doesn't help matters.
But Emory, who has been trained and is a quiet dog who gets along, and plays with, other dogs, and people including kids, has spent 471 days in the shelter. No one wants to adopt her. Let's help change that.
Here's Emory's story:

Emory has been in a shelter setting for 471 days. IMAGINE that for a second if you will......... 471 DAYS. She missed last Christmas with a family, she missed birthday parties, vacations, laying at home on a doggie bed ... and so much more.
Why has Emory been in a kennel for so long? Do you see how she looks...mostly black and she obviously has pit mixed in her (she is also boxer and American bulldog) welp the color along with her being this breed are the hardest to adopt.
Emory would sometimes jump on people when she would meet them, so a generous supporter helped us to send her to a board and train and now she doesn't do that any longer. The trainer said she would be a great dog for even apartment or condo type living - she is quiet, does not require a lot of exercise, and she knows how to sit, stay in place, and come when called. She has gone to dog friendly stores, played with dogs, and he believes she would likely be ok with cats. She has played with children of different ages and has had a lot of fun too. The trainer is willing to go to the new adopter's home to go over all of Emory's learned skills.
Please help us by sharing Emory's story so she can start the New Year off in a forever home. You can see it in her eyes how sad she is . 471 days is an awfully long time
Emory is about 2 years old, she is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, she has a DNA test completed and she is about 50 pounds.
