Beloved Branford Bakery Returns After Nearly 4 Years

The bakery recently made its long awaited return.

BRANFORD, CT — The beloved Cheri's Bakery, which first opened in 1998 recently reopened after closing during the pandemic in late 2020.

The bakery located at 1208 Main St. opened in late February and the response has been overwhelming.

"A week has passed and we are beyond grateful for everyone’s support," the owners said in a social media post earlier in the week. "We have been closing early as we have been sold out. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate to ensure productivity. We look forward in seeing everyone next week!

The family plans to open other locations too, News 8 reported.

Cherly told WTNH News 8 that "People coming in here and thanking us for opening again, it makes me want to cry sometimes because I can’t believe it." (Read/watch more at WTNH News 8).

On the bakery's Facebook page, the response was ecstatic that the business is back again.

"We love having you back! The grandkids were happy to go in and pick out their cookie and donut that they want it after our walk," one patron wrote.

While another person posted, "We are beyond happy to have you back. We’ve been twice and it felt like home. Think having such a popular business in our beautiful center can only add to the environment."
