Branford Police Update: Thefts From Unlocked Vehicles Reported
Police also detail other incidents including a woman who died of an apparent overdose.

BRANFORD, CT — It was a busy month for the Police Department as numerous incidents were reported in town, according to Board of Police Commission meeting minutes. Police Chief Kevin Halloran reported that there were thefts to unlocked vehicles at Turtle Bay Drive and Grove Street.
Also a Subaru Forester was stolen from McKinnel Court. The car was unlocked and the keys were inside, police said. Someone stole used cooking oil from Wendy's.
A shoplifting arrest was made at Kohl's and the accused was in possession of a credit card that made $1,283 worth of unauthorized purchases, police said.

A Walmart employee broke her foot when a vehicle ran over it, police said. Jewelry was reported stolen from a home on Pawson Lane, Halloran informed police commissioners. Someone hit a car parked at Tommy Sullivan's and moved it across the parking lot, police said. Video surveillance helped lead to the responsible party, police said.
Someone stole items from an unlocked car at the YMCA, and a 52-year-old woman died as a result of a heroin, cocaine and fentanyl overdose, police said.
