The Smithsonian exhibition reopened June 8 after a five-year, $125 million renovation, the largest in the museum's 109-year history.

BRANFORD, CT - Who would have known that a kid who grew up in Branford would grow up to become one of the leading, world reknowned experts on dinosaurs.
But that’s exactly what happened to Branford educated Matthew Carrano, son of equally well known (not for dinosaurs) Frank Carrano. Frank Carrano had an illustrious career as an educator and union leader, among many other achievements.
The world is about to get a taste of Matthew Carrano’s expertise as his pet project - as the curator of dinosauria at the Smithsonian Institution at the National Museum of Natural History, is re-opening

“The David H. Koch Hall of Fossils — Deep Time” reopens June 8 after a five-year, $125 million renovation, the largest in the museum’s 109-year history. “Deep Time” examines more than 3.7 billion years of life on Earth, using nearly 700 fossil specimens and other artifacts to tell a complex story. The completely revamped gallery features updated technology, as well as interactive displays that invite visitors to participate rather than merely observe.
