BRANFORD, CT — When Darbar India moves into the building that used to house Assaggio, fans of the popular Indian restaurant can expect some changes, the New Haven Register reported.

The newspaper interviewed owner Haresh Nariyani, who said he plans to start serving Indian pizza — "like a chicken tikka masala pizza," he said — and wants to include a bar and room for outdoor seating.

For years, Darbar was located at 1070 Main St. It's moving to 168 Montowese St., which is currently under renovation, the New Haven Register said.

The new space will be smaller and won't have a banquet room, but Nariyani told the paper that's okay — and he said monthly rent will cost less than half of what it used to.
