BRANFORD, CT — Indian Neck School was placed under a temporary lockdown as police investigated a report of shots fired near 115 South Montowese St., police posted to Facebook.

"After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the sounds were caused by duck hunters legally hunting in the marsh on the Branford River," Branford police wrote. "There was no threat to the school or the surrounding community."
