William C. Van Wilgen, 71, was the 40-year owner-operator of fourth-generation family-owned farm and business, Van Wilgen’s Garden Center and served on the board of many associations and volunteered countless hours.

Joseph ‘Joska’ Szászfai, 85, who immigrated to the U.S. during the Hungarian Revolution, worked at Yale University for over 45 years as the Manager of Photo and Design.

Katherine McGwire, 64, volunteered at local schools, served on Pine Orchard Yacht Club board, was Branford Little League president and became a single engine pilot at 52.

Chester 'Chet' Blomquist, 98, was a US Navy veteran, and a 30-year Branford educator, Shoreline Greenway Trail and Land Trust board member, and Conservation Commission chair.

Patricia Ann Patton, 91, was a longtime public health nurse who, after moving to Branford was a parishioner of St. John Bosco Parish and a member of the Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club.
