Thousands Run in Branford Road Race On Father’s Day Morning
There were 2,300 entries in the Kid's 1 mile Fun Run, the 2 mile walk and the 5 Mile race in the annual Father's Day Road Race.

BRANFORD, CT - There were 2,300 entries in the Kid's 1 mile Fun Run, the 2 mile walk and the 5 Mile race in the annual Father’s Day Road Race in Branford Sunday morning.
It was the 40th annual running of the race - which always occurs on Sunday morning of the Branford Festival weekend.

Ray Figlewski, who started the event in 1979 with his good friend and running partner, Dick Wainwait, was presented a special citation for his decades of efforts in organizing one of the most popular running events in the state.
The male winner was Kyle Gronostaj of East Greenbush NY. The female winner was Kate Pallardy of NYC. The top finisher from Branford was Marzio Mastroianni.
