What To Know As Branford Police HQ Undergoes Renovations, Construction
Approved in 2023, the major renovation to the police department facility at 33 Laurel St. is underway.

BRANFORD, CT — The Laurel Street home of the Branford Police Department, constructed in 1995, is undergoing a major renovation to address myriad concerns.
Those include: an HVAC system that doesn't function optimally making it difficult to control temperature throughout the building; roof leaks; excessive water vapor transmission; windows used in original construction are meeting their life expectancy and lacking modern day efficiencies; a lack of space in the female locker room; outdated prisoner cells that lack adequate ventilation, fresh air return and fire suppression; inadequate physical fitness space for officers; and inadequate public and police parking space lending itself to general security concerns due to unrestricted public access among other concerns.
While the building is undergoing construction and renovation to "better serve our community," police posted on Facebook, the department noted that, "We want to assure you that our services remain open and fully operational."

Otherwise, the community can "still reach out to us for assistance at 203-481-4241 or 911 for emergencies," police wrote.
