Back to School— Not Just for Kids
Check out the Sept. 10 Fall Kickoff to see if lifelong learning is a fit for you.

West Hartford, CT – For a growing number of adults, the waning days of summer create an itch for intellectual stimulation. They’re ready to put away the beach reading and want something more thought-provoking. But they need it in “snackable” doses that fit into busy schedules.
They’ve discovered a gem in the Presidents’ College Lifelong Learning Program at the University of Hartford. As one of the most extensive lifelong learning programs in New England, Presidents’ College is distinguished by the high quality of its offerings and breadth of its course portfolio. The program features lectures and short 2-3 session non-credit mini-courses taught by professors and community thought leaders. There’s no membership fee, and students pay a modest fee for each course.
Course and lecture topics for the fall term include extreme weather, film, cryptocurrency, the Supreme Court, Afro-Cuban jazz, stories from Homer’s Odyssey, discussions of the Wicked films and Broadway show, moral heroes, national and global politics, and much more. The program takes learning beyond the classroom with offerings like a lecture before the upcoming Hartford Stage production of Rope, attending the performance, and then a debrief discussion the following week.
