Farmington Hosting One Final Holiday Food Drive This Weekend

Farmington Community and Supportive Services will be at two local supermarkets, looking to help residents in town before the holidays.

FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington Community and Supportive Services is hosting one final major food drive this weekend to help local folks afflicted with economic uncertainty this holiday season.

The town is hosting a Winter Holiday Meal Food Drive this Saturday, Dec. 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., when it will be collecting food donations to support Farmington and Unionville families.

It will take place at the following locations:

• Highland Park Market – Farmington, 204 Main St.

• Stop & Shop – Unionville, 1799 Farmington Ave.

Donations of the following items are especially appreciated:

• Small ham or gift card

• Canned vegetables

• Canned pineapples

• Box or bag of stuffing

• Bags of carrots

• Bags of potatoes

• Cranberry sauce

• Rolls or biscuits

• Yams or sweet potatoes (can or bag)

• Hot cocoa mix

• Holiday cookies or candy canes

• Disposable roasting pans

"Every donation helps brighten a family’s holiday. Thank you for your continued generosity. We hope you’ll stop by," wrote the town in an announcement.
