Famous Farmington Resident Shares Special Day At Town Hall
The beloved former sports anchor and current morning show host posted a video of her getting marriage license at Farmington Town Hall.
FARMINGTON, CT — One of Farmington's most famous residents recently shared a special day this week as she documented her visit to Farmington Town Hall to get a marriage license.
ABC's Good Morning America host Robin Roberts shared her experience with longtime partner Amber Laign via a viral Instagram video making the rounds on social media.
The film begins with Roberts, 62, and Laign strolling into the Farmington Town Hall building, with Mary J. Blige's "Real Love" softly playing in the background.

Then, the film shows the couple, who have been together for 18 years, going through the steps of applying for and receiving a marriage license.
Roberts and Laign's video then concludes with a humorous closing comment from Roberts, who made a name for herself as a longtime ESPN sports anchor.

The couple will get married later this month, according to the Good Morning America website.
In the video, Roberts recounts a story told to her about the "three rings" of marriage — the engagement ring, the wedding ring ... and the "suffer-ring," she said to laughs from she and her Laign.
