FARMINGTON, CT — There's a Christmas tree up in the Farmington Libraries' main site on Monteith Drive, but it is looking a bit bare.

That's where the public comes in, as the library has erected its annual "Mitten Tree" for the holiday season at its 6 Monteith Drive location.

A mitten tree is just like any other Christmas tree, except its "ornaments" have a practical use beyond merely decorating branches — they literally bring warmth.
