Farmington Preschool Teacher Earns High Praise

The veteran preschool educator was named a regional finalist for a major company award.

FARMINGTON, CT – A local preschool has a very accomplished teacher within its ranks following the announcement this week of her selection as a top teacher in the company.

Goddard Systems, LLC, the manager of The Goddard School franchise system, said this week that Bria Sanders from The Goddard School of Farmington, 6 Bridgewater Road, is a 2025 Goddard School Teacher of the Year Award regional finalist.

"As a preschool teacher, Sanders brings warmth, structure, and deep intentionality to her classroom and is valued for her positive attitude, strong family connections, and unwavering commitment to child development," wrote Goddard in a release.

"Whether planning curriculum, supporting new staff, or providing emotional safety and consistency for her students, she exemplifies what it means to be an extraordinary early childhood educator."

Sanders said she was honored for the designation.

“It is an incredible honor to be named a 2025 Goddard School Teacher of the Year regional finalist, and I’m so grateful to those who nominated me,” said Sanders. “Watching the development of my students motivates me every day and is a constant source of inspiration. I’m honored to play a part in their educational journeys.”

Now in its 19th year, The Goddard School Teacher of the Year Award recognizes extraordinary Goddard School educators who bring enthusiasm to teaching and inspire wonder in their students.

This year, more than 4,300 teachers from across The Goddard School’s more than 640 locations were nominated by families and their colleagues in four classroom categories (infant, toddler, preschool/pre-k, and kindergarten/school-age) across four regions (Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, and West).

In total, more than 8,500 nominations were submitted.

As a 2025 Teacher of the Year regional finalist, GSL gifted Sanders a $1,000 cash award, branded Goddard merchandise, a framed certificate, and a one-year subscription to the ChildCare Education Institute, giving her unlimited access to more than 200 professional development courses.

“Bria takes time to nurture relationships with families, building trust and strong home-school partnerships through thoughtful communication and collaboration,” said Kristina Ford, owner of The Goddard School of Farmington. “Her leadership extends beyond her classroom, serving as a mentor and reliable resource for her fellow teachers, and we are overjoyed to see her recognized for her efforts.”
