Farmington's MLK 2026 Holiday Weekend Impacts Announced
Monday is the holiday honoring Martin Luther King Jr., with several town and school impacts announced.
FARMINGTON, CT — This weekend is another holiday weekend, with several Connecticut towns paying homage to Martin Luther King Jr. on the holiday honoring the slain civil rights leader.
In Farmington, all municipal departments will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Regular hours of operation will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

For Farmington residents who have trash and recycling collection by the town's contractor (Waste Material Trucking Co.), there will be no change in your regular collection day.
Farmington Public Schools are also closed on Monday, Jan. 19, with classes resuming as normal the following day on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
