Hollywood/Broadway Icon Pays Visit To Prominent Farmington Museum

The actor has won numerous awards, but he is best known for his role in a 1980s cult classic, with his signature line often imitated.

FARMINGTON, CT — A prominent art museum in Farmington recently hosted a prominent Hollywood, Broadway, and television icon.

Officials at the Hill-Stead Museum, which is located on 35 Mountain Road, confirmed recently that actor and singer Mandy Patinkin visited the museum last week.

The Tony Award-winning actor is perhaps best known for his role as Inigo Montoya in the 1980s classic "The Princess Bride" and his often-imitated self-introduction.

On the small screen, he starred as a police profiler for two seasons on the crime drama "Criminal Minds" from 2005 to 2007.

A regular on Broadway and the Silver Screen, Patinkin also performs musical concerts featuring his voice.

On Nov. 13, he took his creative curiosity to the Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington.

"We were thrilled to welcome Broadway and screen legend Mandy Patinkin back to Hill-Stead, this time to see our newest exhibition, Hill-Stead’s Secret Gardens," wrote museum officials via social media.

"This captivating show of works by Christian Peltenburg-Brechneff celebrates the beauty, history, and artistry of Hill-Stead’s beloved gardens."

The exhibition is on view through Nov. 30.

Judging by the smile on Patinkin's face while posing at the museum, folks might want to head on over there.
