When students clog the new school's hallways for the first time on Tuesday, Aug. 27, it will end a sometimes tumultuous, but highly anticipated, moment in school history.
After years of planning and a difficult approval process in the midst of the pandemic, Farmington is ready to open the new school.
In June 2021, voters said "yes" to spending $135.6 million for a new Farmington High School building.
Then, on Dec. 8, 2022, they easily approved a $9.7 million supplemental appropriation
for the new Farmington High School project, the second time in as many years the town went to the polls.
While the high school is nearly done, the next major project is to transform the old, 1922 section of the current Farmington High School into a larger, brand-new Farmington Town Hall.
Guests are asked to register in advance if they're interested in attending Monday's festivities. That can be done via this link.
