Major Farmington/West Hartford Mall Announces Black Friday Hours

FARMINGTON/WEST HARTFORD, CT — One of the biggest malls in the state Monday, announced its Black Friday hours for the day after Thanksgiving.

Black Friday, historically, is the unofficial kick-off to the holiday shopping season.

Monday, officials at the Westfarms Mall, located in both Farmington and West Hartford, announced its Black Friday hours.

It all starts with an 8 a.m. opening on Friday, Nov. 28.

"The festive weekend of shopping will feature exclusive retailer sales and special promotions," wrote mall officials in a statement.

But some stores will open beyond mall-wide hours on Black Friday and have earlier morning openings and late closings. Those include:

• Macy’s – Friday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• JCPenney – Friday 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Nordstrom – 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Jordan’s Furniture – 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“The traditional single-day Black Friday event has transformed into an extended promotional period,” said Elizabeth Ryan, general manager of Westfarms.

“With robust sales already underway and retailers introducing significant discounts, it is a week that truly rewards early shoppers. Many of these promotions will continue into early December."
