Scam Alert: Farmington PD Warns Residents About Phony PZC Bills
The Farmington Police Department is urging residents to verify the legitimacy of any unexpected PZC bills they may receive.

FARMINGTON, CT — Local police on Tuesday issued an alert to residents about a new scam targeting the Farmington community.
The Farmington Police Department said scam artists have created fake zoning and planning department invoices in an attempt to get people to give them their money.
"Residents have reported receiving fraudulent invoices claiming to be from the Farmington Zoning & Planning Department," wrote the FPD Tuesday afternoon. "These invoices are not legitimate."

Police said the town will never demand unexpected payments by email or mail without prior communication.
"Do not send money, click links, or share personal information," wrote the FPD.

Anyone who has received these letters or emails should contact the Farmington Police Departmentat 860-675-2400, or the Farmington Planning and Zoning Office at 860-675-2325 to verify authenticity.
