The Stanley-Whitman House (https://www.s-wh.org), a National Historic Landmark located in the heart of historic Farmington, Connecticut, is pleased to announce its summer hours of operation, in effect annually from Memorial Day through Labor Day. During this seasonal period, the museum will welcome visitors Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering a meaningful opportunity for guests of all ages to engage with the complex and compelling history of early Farmington. Group tours are available by appointment for groups of six or more. An adult must accompany children under the age of 13.

A center for living history interpretation and Farmington’s first museum, Stanley-Whitman House shares the daily lives of colonial residents while illuminating broader narratives of the American Revolution, Connecticut’s witch trial history, and the often-overlooked stories of the Indigenous Tunxis people and enslaved and free Africans who helped shape colonial Connecticut.

Guided house tours, approximately 45 minutes in length, begin on the hour, with the final tour starting at 3:15 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to explore the museum’s period raised bed gardens, heirloom orchard, exhibit galleries, and interpretive spaces that reflect the beliefs, labor, and resilience of 17th- and 18th-century Farmington residents.
