Oct. 27, 2025

To the Editor:

I am writing in strong support of Brian FX Connolly for Farmington Town Council Chair. Brian has done an excellent job as a Town Council member for the past six years and he has a long history of service to our town. One example is his twelve years on the Economic Development Commission, some as Chair.

As a former local business owner, Brian is concerned with keeping an eye on the town’s finances, avoiding waste and keeping low property taxes. He will work with our state delegation at the Capitol to get Farmington its fair share of state funding to offset costs for taxpayers. He did just that to help secure additional state funding for the high school project thereby reducing our local taxpayer’s cost. To offset the loss of federal funds, Brian will work with our state delegation at the Capitol to pursue more state funding to prevent increases in our property taxes, while providing great town services.

Keeping Farmington affordable is important to Brian. As a Town Councilor, Brian helped maintain the lowest mill rate in the Farmington Valley and successfully advocated for expanded senior tax abatements. He will also work to preserve services for our seniors that will help them stay in their homes.

Brian’s two children graduated from Farmington’s public schools. He knows the value of our excellent school system for helping all our students reach their full potential and for keeping our property values strong.

Brian is running with a great Town Council team who will work with him in the best interests of Farmington.

In the first district - Dave Wlodkowski, Town Council incumbent, an architect, member and past president of the Exchange Club, and Retirement Board chair; and Bruce Polsky, former Executive Vice President of a global IT firm, a TPZ Alternate Commissioner and Retirement Board member.

In the second district – Patti Boye-Williams, a Town Council incumbent, a Renewable Energy & Environmental lawyer, and former Board of Education member; and Bill Beckert, a trial lawyer, the current Board of Education Chair, former TPZ Commissioner and Conservation Commissioner.

Please join me in voting for Brian FX Connolly for Town Council Chair and all the Town Council candidates on Row A on or before November 4th.

Vote Row A all the way.

Demetrios Giannaros, PhD Economist

Former Farmington State Representative
