FARMINGTON, CT — Tuesday's wintry mix of weather resulted in Farmington getting the frozen variety, prompting the town to issue a reminder about the rules and regulations of winter.

As a result, the Town of Farmington on Tuesday shared a few quick winter weather reminders:

• Plowing: During snowstorms (usually greater than 2 inches of snow accumulation) Town crews will plow based on established routes. Main roads are cleared first, then neighborhoods.

• Parking: Avoid parking on streets during and after storms - official bans will be announced via Everbridge.

• Private Plowing: Don't push snow into the street - fines apply.

• Sidewalks: Residents must clear sidewalks within 24 hours after the storm.

• Self-Serve Sand: Available for residents (5-gallon limit) at 544 New Britain Ave. and all firehouses.
