Well-Used Biking/Hiking Trail Slated For Closure In Farmington
The temporary closure is to allow for much-needed tree maintenance work.
FARMINGTON, CT — While weather will likely be a factor, town officials said a portion of a well-used hiking/biking trail will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
The Town of Farmington said the Farmington Heritage Canal Bike Path will be temporarily closed that day between Red Oak Hill and Brickyard Road.
This is to allow for necessary tree work and trail maintenance.

"This will be a hard closure with no detours between the two points. Trail users are asked to plan accordingly and avoid the area during this time," wrote the town.
More than likely, however, snow and rain expected on Tuesday will push the work back to Wednesday, Dec. 3, which is the rain date for this operation.
