A home in Glastonbury was destroyed after a fire engulfed it in flames Monday.

GLASTONBURY, CT β A home in Glastonbury was destroyed after a fire engulfed it in flames Monday, fire chief Michael Thurz said.
The fire broke out at 3:09 p.m. at 217 Cedar Ridge Drive, he said.
According to an incident report, heavy smoke was seen as Glastonbury firefighters were en route and Manchester crews were also called in to assist. Tankers from Bolton and Hebron were also called in because that area of Glastonbury is nit serviced by hydrants, according to an incident report.

Firefighters encountered a home "heavily involved with fire throughout" when they arrived and crews from Portland, Marlborough and Colchester were also called in, along with a foam trailer from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, according to an incident report.
No one was hurt, but the house was left uninhabitable, according to an incident report. The Red Cross said three adults were displaced.

The Glastonbury Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause, and preliminary findings indicate the origin is a garage underneath the home, according to an incident report.
Images from the Manchester Fire Department showed the home completely covered in flames and a boat, parked on a trailer adjacent to the home, was melting.
