About 500 people attended this Saturday's No Kings rally in Glastonbury, young and old alike, protesting the excesses of the Trump administration and its numerous violations of constitutional law. The rally went from 9:00am until 2pm. Peak attendance was around 10:30am while it was still raining, such was the resolve of the people in attendance. Many of the demonstrators were waving American flags, as it was also Flag Day. Drivers passing in front of the town hall waved, gave peace signs or honked their horns in support of the rally. People were handing out free flags, free donut holes (yum!), free bottled water. There was no organized counter-protest, with just one seemingly rabid agitator at one point who quickly gave up and left the area in the face of a peaceful barrage of "No Kings" chants that drowned out his ranting. All in all, it was a very peaceful rally with lots of positive energy among the crowd and the passers-by in their cars.
