Glastonbury Council Approves Expanded Property Tax Exemptions For Veterans
The exemption are also to be granted to Gold Star spouses.

GLASTONBURY, CT β The Glastonbury Town Council recently approved amendments to the Town Code Chapter 18, Article I, Section 18.7 regarding Veterans Property Tax Exemptions.
The amendments are reflective of Public Act 25-168 of the 2025 legislative session, which clarifies and expands veteran exemption options, specifically for Veterans classified as 100 percent permanently and totally disabled, and their surviving spouses as follows:
- Allows a property tax exemption of the dwelling and up to 2 acres of land
- Allows the exemption to be granted to the Veteran's surviving spouse
- Allows the exemption to be granted to Veterans with a service-connected total disability based on individual unemployability (TDIU)
- Allows the exemption to be granted to Gold Star spouses
- The exemption amount is capped at the median assessed value of residential real property in Glastonbury
The amendments are effective Nov. 24, 2025 for the 2025 Grand List.
