In Memoriam: John G. Garay

John G. Garay, formerly of Glastonbury, 97, died at home in Coventry, on February 16, 2016.

He was predeceased by his wife Marian Davis Garay and his parents Joseph and Sophie Garay of Glastonbury and two sisters, Dorothy Rose of New York and Nellie Phillips of Glastonbury.

John worked for the J.B. Williams Co. for several years before going to Hamilton Standard from where he retired in 1976. He was an army veteran of World War II. John lived in Glastonbury his entire life until the age of 96 when he moved to Coventry to be closer to his family.

He leaves his son, Donald and his wife Lana of Coventry. He also leaves his grandson Jason Garay and wife Lisa of Coventry and granddaughter Jennifer and her husband Michael Hacksunda of Englewood, FL. He leaves 5 great-grandchildren, Josh, Joey, and Lynn Garay and Mikayla and Mariah Hacksunda, and a great, great grandson, Nicolas Garay. He also left a niece, Susanne Scanlon ( Phillips) and her family.

There is only a private graveside service being held.
