In Memoriam: Robar 'Robb' Brusberg

The Glastonbury resident passed away Feb. 29 at the age of 79.

Robar 'Robb' Brusberg, of Glastonbury, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home on February 29, 2016.

He was born on March 15, 1936 in Milwaukee, WI to Rachel Hiles Brusberg and Earl A. Brusberg.

He graduated from the University of Wisconsin where he received his Bachelor's and Master's in Chemical Engineering. He also served in the United States Army stationed at Fort Stewart in Georgia. He was a Chemical Engineer and worked his entire career for TDK (formerly Allen Bradley). His job with TDK took him from Wisconsin to Oklahoma where he retired.

Robb was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was an amazing gardener, growing both vegetables and flowers. He loved sharing his gardening accomplishments with his family. He started an investment club at TDK and continued his interest in the stock market during his retirement.

He enjoyed bird watching, butterflies, and collecting rocks. He was a beautiful singer and loved singing in church. He was a lifelong member of Christian Sciences churches in Wisconsin, Oklahoma and Connecticut where he served on multiple committees, including positions of First Reader and Treasurer. Robb received great joy and comfort from his family and spending time with them. He lived by the motto, "We are here to help others."

He is predeceased by his wife, and mother of his children, Suzanne Radtke Brusberg.

In addition to his devoted wife, Marian Jennings Brusberg of 16 years, he is survived by his sister Judy Johnson and her husband Alden. He will be dearly missed by his son, Todd Brusberg and Susan Bohaker Brusberg, and his daughter Joy Brusberg Clausen and her husband Jack. He was deeply loved by his 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his wife, Marian's children Elaine Jennings Sabatino and her husband Scott, and George Jennings and his wife Veronica.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Robb's amazing life.
