Route 2 Exit Re-Numbering And Sign Replacement Project Set To Begin
State Route 2 is getting a new sequence of exit numbers.

GLASTONBURY, CT β A Connecticut Department of Transportation project to revise exit numbering on both the eastbound and westbound sides of Route 2 from Norwich to Hartford and on and Route 11, both north and southbound, is slated to begin Tuesday.
The project is scheduled to be completed by February, DOT officials said. The project (DOT 0172-0490) consists of the exit renumbering and replacement of highway signs along the Route 2 and Route 11 corridors that have reached or exceeded their useful life, DOT officials said. The exits are being renumbered to mileage-based numbering to conform to Federal standards and are part of a multi-year effort on all the state's highways, DOT officials said.
Motorists can expect to see both old and new exit numbers displayed throughout the transition for a few days while work progresses, DOT officials said.
