SliceWorks to Present Pizza Fundraiser for Special Olympics
Event will take place in Glastonbury, August 1st

SliceWorks of Glastonbury will present a pizza fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut this Tuesday, August 1st. The restaurant is located at 363 New London Turnpike in Glastonbury and the fundraiser will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Throughout business hours, 10% of proceeds from all sales will go to Special Olympics to support its year-round sports and health programs for people of all abilities in the local community and around the state.
The mission of Sliceworks is to provide advanced education and hands-on training in culinary arts and restaurant maintenance to students of all abilities. SliceWorks owners Chris Miner, Shannon Santostefano, Vinnie Scileppi and Lou Scileppi have been partnering with the Glastonbury Transition Academy and the Glastonbury school system to provide restaurant and culinary arts training to students since opening the doors to their business in January of 2023.

The restaurant and its mission were inspired by Miner's son, Jack, who has autism and aspired to work in a pizza shop. Jack participates in Special Olympics with the Colchester team and is currently attending golf practices to prepare to compete in the organization's Unified Sports® Fall Festival, September 9th and 10th. Chris Miner is a Special Olympics coach.
SliceWorks is dedicated to providing delicious food and a great dining experience to its customers, as well as offering meaningful career opportunities to staff and being an active member of the community. Its hours are Monday through Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
