Here are five outstanding nonprofit groups you should know about in the Groton area:
- The Light House Voc-Ed Center: Founded in 1992, this organization specializes in disabilities services and support.
- Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society: This society provides several programs and services to assist active duty and retired sailors, marines, and their families in financial need.
- Noank Community Support Services: NCSS operates a gender-responsive and trauma-informed therapeutic group home for young women aged 14 to 18 who are referred by the State of CT Department of Children and Families (DCF).
- Groton Animal Foundation: The foundation has a mission to raise funds to subsidize the general needs of the Town of Groton Animal Control.
- Community Speaks Out: CSO has a mission to improve the community by providing education, prevention and resources to individuals and their families affected by drug/alcohol addiction.
