Details Released For 'City Day' In Groton

GROTON, CT — "City Day" is coming up in Groton later this summer. The 40th anniversary family-friendly event is scheduled for Aug. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Washington Park.

We love the City of Groton and take pride in providing top-notch services for our residents. We also love showing and telling you all about what we do here in the City. City Day is a celebration of all things City of Groton and an opportunity for City employees to showcase what their departments are responsible for and what they do within the City and Groton Utilities.

Save the date! The 40th Anniversary City Day event will take place on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 5 - 8 pm in Washington Park. This year's celebration will expand on past year's, offering more activities, games, and a Concert in the Park (beginning at 7 pm).

Each City department will provide interactive displays, and/or games and giveaways. This year you can look forward to...

We offer a menu of delicious and reasonably priced food items - all cooked and served up by our elected officials, department heads and volunteers. The menu is subject to change, however, typically includes hot dogs, burgers, chicken sandwiches, chips, and cold drinks - in addition, we will be bringing back a fan favorite, snow cones!

A DJ will be there all evening to keep the celebration in high gear; and the winner of the Jacqueline Nixon Community Service Award will be announced.
