DIRECTIONS: If you are planning on picking up a test kit, all traffic will need to enter the Fitch HS distribution point through the GRASSO TECH entrance off Fort Hill Road. Officers will be on traffic posts to guide motorist through. All those picking up test kits will exit from Fitch High School onto Groton Long Point Road.

The only traffic allowed to enter Fitch High School will be those attending sporting or extracurricular activities. Test kits will not be handed out to those who walk up to the distribution point.

Distribution will be on a first come, first served basis and this distribution includes residents of Groton Long Point. (It should be noted that the City of Groton has received a separate allotment and City officials will be coordinating a distribution for City of Groton residents). There is a limit of 1 test kit per vehicle and each kit contains 2 tests and detailed instructions on how to properly administer the test.

Town residents will have to show proof of residency in the Town of Groton, which may be in the form of a driver’s license, car registration or items of mail for service members demonstrating an address within the Town of Groton. Residents of other surrounding communities have received separate allotments to be distributed at other locations. If you reside in a surrounding community please contact your Town Hall or Police Dept. for distribution points in your town.

In addition, we have a supply of N95 masks. These will also be distributed and we will offer up to 5 masks per household. They will be issued at the same time for those who are picking up a test kit.

We are asking for the public’s understanding, patience and cooperation with this effort. Again, this is a limited amount of test kits and less than we had expected to receive. For those who are unable to obtain a test kit: if you are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19, consider scheduling testing with one of the area testing sites (check https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/Covid-19-Knowledge-Base/COVID-19-Testing or https://llhd.org/coronavirus-covid-19-situation/covid-19-testing/ ) or make contact with your healthcare provider.
