Groton Man Sentenced In Child Pornography Case, Federal Prosecutors Say
A man was sentenced to prison for making and possessing child sex abuse material, according to federal prosecutors.
GROTON, CT — A Groton man was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for making and possessing child sex abuse material, according to U.S. Attorney for Connecticut David X. Sullivan.
Michael W. Landon, 39, of Groton, previously pleaded guilty to one count each of production of child pornography and possessing and accessing with intent to view child pornography. He will also serve 15 years of supervised release.
According to court documents, the FBI began investigating Landon in 2023 for distributing child pornography on Wickr, a secure messaging service.

He was trading videos in a chat room dedicated to spy cameras and voyeurism. Landon shared videos of a minor girl in a bathroom and bedroom, according to prosecutors.
Investigators searched Landon's phone and found video of him abusing a minor boy and other videos and images depicting child sexual abuse, prosecutors said.

Landon has been detained since he was arrested on related state charges June 28, 2023. The state charges against him are pending.
