Road Closures, Traffic Delays Anticipated For Mystic Half Marathon

MYSTIC, CT — The Stonington and Groton police departments have announced temporary road closures in Mystic on Sunday, May 18.

The temporary road closures are due to the Hartford Marathon Foundation’s 2025 Mystic Half Marathon & 10K Road Race.

Road closures and traffic delays are expected between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m., police said in a Facebook post.

"While every effort will be made to minimize traffic disruptions, we ask the community to remain patient and exercise caution as runners will be on the roadway," police said. "Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and successful event for our towns and local businesses."

Drivers can expect delays and/or detours in the following areas

Greenmanville Road [Rte. 27] (Coogan Blvd – Holmes Street) 6:55 a.m. - 7:20 a.m. Holmes Street

Route 1 (Holmes Street - Pearl Street) 6:55 a.m. - 7.20 a.m. Pearl Street

Grove Avenue 7:10 a.m. - 8:10 a.m. River Road

Route 27 (River Road - Jerry Browne Road) 7:20 a.m.- 8:25 a.m. (Alternating one-way traffic)

Jerry Browne Road (Route 27 - Mistuxet Ave) 7:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Mistuxet Avenue
