GROTON, CT — Police are advising residents about road closures and traffic congestion associated with upcoming Memorial Day parades.

The Groton Police Department issued the following statement on the parades in Noank and Mystic:

The Groton Police Department announce road closures and traffic congestion alerts for Monday, May 26, 2025, in the Noank and downtown Mystic areas. The road closures and traffic congestion alerts are in conjunction with the Noank Memorial Day Parade and the Mystic Memorial Day Parade.

Noank road closures will occur at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Monday May 26, 2025 and will remain in effect for a short period of time after the parade is complete. These closures include:

Elm Street- From Brook Street to Prospect Hill Rd.

The Noank Village area including Mosher Avenue, Ward Avenue, Main Street, Pearl Street. High Street, and Sylvan Street.

The Mystic road closures will occur at approximately 12:30 a.m., on Monday, May 26, 2025, and will remain in effect until approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the parade. The closures are:

  • West Main St: From the Drawbridge to High Street.
  • Water Street: From West Main Street to New London Road.
  • Pearl Street: From West Main Street to Clift Street.
  • Gravel Street: From West Main Street to Clift Street.

Moderate traffic conditions are anticipated in and around the Noank and downtown Mystic areas, before, during and after the parade.
