HARTFORD, CT — The polls have closed in Hartford and the votes are being counted to determine numerous key races for mayor, city council, and the city treasurer.

The biggest race of the night features a wide-open battle for mayor, with Democrat Arunan Arulampalam taking on Republican Michael McGarry and four petitioning hopefuls.

They aim to fill the post vacated by Democratic incumbent Luke Bronin, who is not seeking another term.

Hartford Mayor (vote for one)

Democrat: Arunan Arulampalam

Republican: Michael McGarry

Petitioning: Gisele Gigi Jacobs

Petitioning: Nick Lebron

Petitioning: J. Stan McCauley

Petitioning: Mark Stewart Greenstein

UPDATE: Multiple reports have called the race in favor of Democrat Arunan Arulampalam, who will become Hartford's next mayor.

City Council (vote for six)

Democratic candidates are: Thomas TJ Clarke II, Marilyn E. Rossetti, Kelly Bilodeau, Shirly Surgeon, Maly Rosado and Amilcar Hernandez.

Republican candidates are: William Connelly and Barry J. D'Andrea.

Working Families Party candidates are: Tiana Hurcules, Alexander Thomas and Joshua Michtom.

Green Party candidates are: Mary L. Sanders.

The Hartford Party candidates are: John Q. Gale.

Treasurer (vote for one)

Democrat: Carmen Sierra.

Petitioning: Matthew J. Hennessy.

Constables (vote for four)

Democrats (unopposed): Radames V. Vazquez, Mamie M. Bell, Ronnie Walker and Ellen S. Nurse.
