Hartford Teen Charged In Bicyclist Death: HPD
The 18-year-old is accused of driving a vehicle that struck the bicyclist in April and fleeing the scene afterward.

HARTFORD, CT — A teenager has been charged by Hartford police in connection with a fatal incident last April in which a bicyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle.
The Hartford Police Department on Wednesday charged Michael Grady, 18, of reckless driving, evading responsibility involving death, and operating without a license.
Grady was being held on $150,000 bond, police said.

The HPD said the incident happened on April 7 at approximately 7:31 p.m., when Hartford Police officers responded to Main Street and Capen Street after a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle.
Officers located the bicyclist, identified as Nicholas Thompson, 42, unresponsive in the roadway.

Despite life-saving measures, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
"The investigation revealed the bicyclist was rear-ended by the suspect vehicle, which then struck a parked vehicle and became disabled. The occupants fled the scene on foot," wrote the HPD on Thursday.
After an extensive investigation, detectives identified the driver and secured a felony arrest warrant, police said.
