2 Injured After Armed Robbery At Tradewinds Plaza: Middletown PD
Middletown Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at Tradewinds Shopping Center Tuesday evening.

MIDDLETOWN, CT – A white or Hispanic man entered a business at Tradewinds Plaza, displayed a firearm, took money from the register, and now Middletown Police Department is looking for the suspect, police said.
On Tuesday, Oct. 10, around 7:14 p.m., Middletown Police Officers were called to Midtown Threading and Nail Spa at 749 Saybrook Rd (Tradewinds Plaza) for the report of an armed robbery, police said.
When officers arrived, they learned that a white or Hispanic man entered the nail salon through the front door, displayed a firearm, shoved an employee out of the way, took money from the register, and exited through the rear of the business on foot, police said.

Information obtained at the scene indicated the suspect was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, a baseball hat and an unknown-style mask, police said.
During the robbery, two adults suffered minor injuries, police said.

One of the victims was transported to Middlesex Hospital for the evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries. Their names are not being released at this time, police said.
Middletown Officers set up a perimeter, and the Connecticut State Police were alerted to the robbery due to the proximity to Route 9, police said.
A Middletown Police K-9 team responded and attempted to track the suspect, but they could not locate him in the area, police said.
The case is under investigation, police said.
