MIDDLETOWN, CT — A car burst into flames in Middletown this week.

On Tuesday, the Westfield Fire Department day crew was dispatched to the intersection of Middle Street and Country Club Road for the motor vehicle fire. Flames engulfed the front end of the vehicle.

Crews were able to stretch a hand line and extinguished the blaze with no issues, fire officials said.

No injuries to firefighters were reported and the driver was evaluated at the scene, fire officials said.

The cause is being investigated.
