
The city of Middletown has begun collecting taxes for the 2014 fiscal year starting today.
Motor vehicle and personal property taxes will be due on July 1. A taxpayer will be considered delinquent if these taxes are not delivered to the town before Aug. 1.
Delinquent motor vehicle taxes will be reported to the Department of Motor Vehicles, which will not issue a renewed registration until the payment is satisfied. Delinquent vehicle taxes must be paid in cash or money order.

Vehicles purchased between Oct. 1, 2012, and July 31, 2013, will be taxed on Jan. 1.
You can now pay your taxes online or by telephone using your credit card! No more waiting in long lines or having to wait for office hours. The City of Middletown has partnered with Official Payments Corp. to offer the property owners of Middletown the convenience of paying their real-estate, personal property, motor vehicle, motor vehicle supplemental, water, sewer & sanitation taxes online or by telephone.
Please note that the City of Middletown Tax Collector's Office ONLY collects for the City of Middletown. Any other district taxes should be paid directly to the respective districts; Westfield or South Fire.

The district payments are not processed through this web jurisdiction code. Any payments received by the City of Middletown will be applied to City of Middletown bills only.
If you did not receive a bill or have questions about the tax process, contact the Tax Assessor’s Office at (800) 2PayTax, (800) 272-9829. Middletown has been assigned a special jurisdiction code of 1735. You should have this code, your tax bill and your credit card readily available before you call.
