
The song goes "No more pencils, no more books," but we don't really mean the part about the books. In fact, summertime makes some of the best reading time!
Middletown Schools participate in the Governor's Summer Reading Program. The theme this year is Dig Into Reading. You can download the journal to log all the books you read by clicking here.
Russell Library is offering special incentive for kids who read during the summer:
Beneath the Surface, Grades 4 and Up
Kids will be busy during the summer, reading or listening to books, participating in weekly challenges, and earning raffle tickets! Come to the library and find out more about this exciting reading program. You can also learn how to register online and explore the online opportunities.
Dig Into Reading, Ages 3 to Entering Third GradeFor every five books you read, up to 25, you will receive a sticker and a fun prize. The youngest kids joining can have a grownup read to them. You can read your own books, but we hope you’ll check out our wonderful collection too!
Middletown Public Schools also has a bookmobile that is visiting locations throughout the city on Wednesdays, Tuesday mornings at a Park & Recreation Camp, and Friday morning at the North End Farmers Market.
