Man Shot, Killed In Middletown Sunday: Police

Police said the shooting occurred Sunday afternoon.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — One person was shot and killed on Sunday afternoon in Middletown, police said.

At 1:14 p.m. police were called to a residence on Bow Lane for the report of a domestic disturbance, police said. Prior to police arrival, dispatch received information that an adult male was shot in the residence, police said.

On arrival, officers located a man who had been shot in the chest and abdomen during the disturbance, police said. The injured man was transported to Middlesex Hospital for treatment of his gunshot wounds but died as a result of his injuries, police said.

Middletown Police Major Investigations Detectives responded to the scene and are working with the State's Attorney's Office on the investigation. The case is under investigation and the names of the involved parties are not being released at this time, police said. This is an isolated incident and there is no specific danger to the public, police said.
