Maryland Fugitive Captured In Middletown: U.S. Marshals Service
Montgomery County detectives had been investigating several armed robberies in the Silver Springs area of Maryland.

MIDDLETOWN, CT – The Middletown Police Department assisted the U.S. Marshals in Connecticut and the New Haven Police Department in capturing a man wanted on armed robbery charges, Matthew Duffy, U.S. Marshals PIO, said.
Duffy said since March, Montgomery County detectives have been investigating several armed robberies in the Silver Spring area of Maryland. Oliver Agyopong, 21, and two co-defendants were identified as suspects in some of the robberies, and a warrant was issued for their arrest.
On Oct. 6, members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force, Middletown Police Department and the New Haven Police Department captured Oliver at a residence on Ferry Street in Middletown, Duffy said.

Agyopong was wanted on charges of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, assault first-degree, assault second-degree, use of a firearm in a violent crime and theft, Duffy said.
Agyopong was the last suspect charged in the trio, Buffy said.

Agyopong was transported to the Middletown Police Department, where he will be held pending extradition to Maryland, Duffy said.
